Learning Comes Alive Through Experiences.

Specially curated experiences alongside the weekly programme.

Beyond regular classes, WINGS runs workshops, carnivals, celebrations, storytelling sessions, reading activities, leadership programs, public speaking activities, creative collaborations, stage experiences and theme-based learning events. Selected workshops may also be opened to non-WINGS students.

Beyond regular classes

At WINGS, children also participate in specially curated:

These experiences allow children to practise what they learn in an exciting, social and real-world environment.

Admissions are open. Ages 4–15 · two 90-minute sessions a week.

Ten Kinds of Experience

What Each One Actually Looks Like.

Workshops

Hands-on sessions built around making, trying and showing.

A workshop gives a child something to do with their hands and something to say about it afterwards. They work through a task, hit the bit that does not go to plan, and talk the group through what they ended up with.

The point is not the finished object. It is the explaining — the child who cannot yet describe what they made is given a reason to find the words.

Carnivals

Busy, noisy days where taking part is the whole exercise.

A carnival puts a child in a crowd of children and asks them to join in. For a quiet child that is a bigger ask than it looks, and a far easier one than standing on a stage.

They queue, they team up with someone they do not know well, they take a turn. Confidence built on a day like this is the kind that holds.

Celebrations

Festivals and occasions marked together, with something to prepare.

Celebrations give children a reason to prepare — something to recite, present, make or host — and a warm room to do it in.

A child who will not read aloud in a quiet class will often do it on a day when everybody is doing something, because the attention is shared out.

Storytelling Sessions

Stories heard, retold, and eventually invented.

Children listen to a story, then retell it in their own words. Retelling is harder than it sounds: it needs sequence, memory and the confidence to hold the room for a minute.

From there they start changing endings, adding characters, and telling stories that are entirely theirs.

Reading Activities

Reading treated as something you do out loud and together.

Reading sessions work on more than decoding words. Children read aloud, stop to say what a passage meant, and argue about what a character should have done.

Comprehension and vocabulary grow out of that conversation rather than out of a worksheet.

Leadership Programs

Taking charge of something small, and seeing it through.

Leadership here means being the one who decides, delegates and reports back on a task small enough to finish in a session.

Children take turns, so the quiet child leads as often as the loud one, and both find out what the other role feels like.

Public Speaking Activities

From saying your own name to holding a room.

Public speaking is built in steps: introduce yourself, answer a question in front of the group, speak for thirty seconds, then speak with a point to make.

Nobody is pushed to the front on day one. Children watch first, join when they are ready, and are never asked to perform before they want to.

Creative Collaborations

Work that only finishes if the group makes it finish.

A collaboration gives a group one outcome and several opinions about how to get there. Children negotiate, split the work and deal with the part nobody wanted.

Disagreeing without falling out is a life skill, and it is practised here on something low-stakes.

Stage Experiences

Real stage time, in front of a real audience.

Standing on a stage is a specific skill: where to look, what to do with your hands, how to carry on after losing your place.

Children get the stage more than once, because the second time is the one where the nerves start to settle.

Theme-Based Learning Events

A single theme, explored from every angle in one session.

One idea runs through the whole session — the reading, the activity, the discussion and the presentation all circle the same theme.

Children see the same idea in several forms, which is how it sticks.

Ready to Give Your Child WINGS?

Your child doesn’t need to become someone else.

They simply need the confidence to become more of who they already are.

  • Give them a space to communicate.
  • A space to explore.
  • A space to make mistakes.
  • A space to grow.

Give Them WINGS.
